U.S. Access Board's ADA Accessibility Standards Webpage
Accessibility Standards issued under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) apply to places of public accommodation, commercial facilities, and state and local government facilities in new construction, alterations, and additions.
This U.S. Access Board Webpage provides information including:
- A version of the ADA Standards that combines the ADA Standards issued by the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) and the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) and provides notes on the unique accessibility standards in each document. DOJ’s ADA Standards apply to all facilities except public transportation facilities, which are subject to DOT’s ADA Standards.
- A Guide to the ADA Standards that explains and illustrates the Standards and includes a series of animations on accessibility.
- Background information on the ADA Standards.
