Disability Rights California Transportation Fact Sheets
Disability Rights California has created three fact sheets about public transportation and the rights of individuals with disabilities.
- Discrimination Fact Sheet: Paratransit- Paratransit is a transportation service for individuals with disabilities who are unable to use public transportation services. This publication describes where paratransit services are required.
- Discrimination Fact Sheet: Public Transportation- Title II of the ADA does not allow disability-based discrimination by public transportation services. Public transportation services include fixed route systems such as city buses and light rails.
- Disability Discrimination Fact Sheet: Services Provided by Amtrak- This publication discusses Amtrak’s policies for people with disabilities. The policies are about access in stations, trains, and other services. If Amtrak does not follow the policies, this publication provides guidance on what to do.
