ADA-Compliance Problems with Some Santa Barbara, CA Parklets

November 1, 2022

The article, "Six State Street parklets not ADA-compliant" discusses how 6 out of 44 outdoor dining parklets in the downtown promenade in Santa Barbara, CA are out of compliance with ADA requirements to provide accessibility to people with disabilities.  City staff are taking steps to bring the parklets into compliance with the law, including having a certified ADA specialist inspect the sites. The city will soon begin inspecting parklets outside the promenade area.
