NCD Report Calls for Adoption of Accessibility Standards for Medical and Diagnostic Equipment
June 25, 2021
A National Council on Disability (NCD) Report calls for the U.S. Department of Justice and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Office for Civil Rights to adopt the federal accessibility standards for medical and diagnostic equipment. This report also discusses the need for widespread use of the standards by health care facilities to make sure the U.S. health care system is meeting the needs of all Americans, including those with mobility disabilities. These individuals currently face great physical barriers to accessing the health care they need.
