Seeking Comments on Electric Vehicle Charging Station Requirements

June 15, 2022

The U.S. Department of Transportation's Federal Highway Administration is looking for comments on minimum requirements for electric vehicle charging stations (EVCS), including how these EVCS must comply with the ADA Standards.
These minimum standards will help make sure the national EV charging network is user-friendly, reliable, and accessible. The proposed rule would establish the groundwork for states to build federally-funded charging station projects across a national EV charging network. The standards also establish strong requirements for installation, maintenance, and operations to increase the safety and reliability of charging station function and use.
