U.S. Attorney's Office Reaches Settlement with the City of Oxnard
April 27, 2021
Based on its review of the Oxnard Transit Center Intercity Rail Station, the United States Attorney’s Office for the Central District of California concluded that the City of Oxnard has violated Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) by failing to operate the Station in a way to ensure it is readily accessible to and usable by individuals with disabilities.
The findings include insufficient accessible routes in many areas of the Station and lack of appropriate signage. The City has agreed to hire an Independent Licensed Architect to conduct a compliance review of the Station. The City will submit the compliance review's findings to the U.S. Attorney's Office, along with a proposed remedies to address each violation. All violations must be corrected within three years.
