Study Finds Doctors Know Little About Their Obligations to People With Disabilities
A recent article discusses that even three decades after the passage of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), a new study finds that many doctors are unaware of their obligations under the law when caring for people with disabilities.
The study’s findings include:
- More than a third of doctors surveyed had little or no knowledge about their legal requirements under the ADA.
- 71% did not know who determines reasonable accommodations.
- 68% indicated they believed they are at risk for ADA lawsuits.
