Access to Video Conferencing
11:00am - 12:30pm
Description
In this webinar, Ike Ofobike and Bill Wallace from the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) will explain the rules and policies the Commission has adopted in 2023 and 2024 to ensure that video conferencing services are accessible to individuals with disabilities. The FCC decided that all video conferencing services must meet the accessibility requirements adopted for Advanced Communication Services (ACS) in a 2023 Report and Order. The Commission adopted more specific rules for video conferencing services in 2024 in a Second Report and Order, including requirements for access to captioning, sign language interpreting services, and telecommunications relay services. Ike and Bill will talk through these rules and answer questions from the audience.
Individuals will be able to submit questions for the speaker in advance during the registration process.
Human Generated Real-Time Captioning will be provided for this session.
