Building Better Documents – Usable to All
11:00am - 12:30pm
Description
This session walks through how to design, test, and remediate digital documents so they’re usable with assistive technology and aligned with the new ADA Title II technical standard, WCAG 2.1 AA. We’ll cover accessibility basics in Word, PowerPoint, and Canva (headings, styles, color contrast, typography, alt text, links, tables, reading order), how to export and repair tagged PDFs in Acrobat, and what to do about scanned documents and forms. We’ll end by unpacking the WCAG 2.1 AA compliance deadlines, key exceptions, and what they really mean for your existing files so you know exactly where to start cleaning up your digital document library.
Individuals will be able to submit questions for the speaker in advance during the registration process.
Human Generated Real-Time Captioning will be provided for this session.
