Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA): What You Need to Know!

MarMarch 19 2024

Description

Under Title I of the ADA, employees with disabilities can request leave as a reasonable accommodation. However, employees who are eligible for the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) may also use this as a form of leave to address a disability-related need. The Wage and Hour Division enforces the FMLA which provides job-protected leave from work for family and medical reasons and requires continuations of their group health benefits under the same conditions as if they had not taken leave. This session will introduce the FMLA, family relationships under the FMLA, FMLA-protected leave reason, taking FMLA Leave, Administering FMLA Leave, employee rights and helpful resources.

Individuals may submit questions for the presenters in advance through the registration process.

This session will have human generated real-time captioning provided.
