Opioid Use Disorder and the Americans with Disabilities Act: Enforcement Actions by the Department of Justice

Members of the Civil Rights Unit (CRU) of the United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Michigan will discuss some of the basic protections of the Americans with Disabilities Act that are applicable to individuals with an Opioid Use Disorder, and the Department of Justice’s role in enforcing those protections. CRU staff will outline the basic investigative process, including how to file a complaint, before highlighting recent enforcement actions of the Department and the policy changes that resulted from those actions.
