Unlocking A Way Out: Networking to Provide a Pathway for Inmates
11:00am - 12:30pm
Description
The ADA protects inmates with disabilities in correctional settings, including their right to program access and reasonable accommodations. This presentation will examine the barriers faced by inmates who are managing mental health challenges while navigating the court system in custody. We will discuss how to identify these obstacles and develop individualized plans to address them by connecting and coordinating inmate needs across multiple systems. Attendees will learn about the successful strategies and logistical approaches implemented in our county jail, as well as partnerships with other county and community divisions, to help reduce recidivism.
Real-time captioning via Zoom and Stream Text will be available.
Individuals may submit questions for the speakers consideration in advance during the registration process.
